# Mass Migration is Class Warfare from Above **How the globalised Gentry profits at the expense of the European worker from Open Borders** In one of my recent essays, [_The Engineers of Europe’s Migration Crisis: The Geopolitical Pincer of Washington, Moscow, and their Trojan Horses_](https://substack.com/@nikodemskrobisz/note/p-181289877?utm_source=notes-share-action&r=4j81mk), I examined how much of Europe’s mass migration over the past two decades can be traced to American interventionism and Russian hybrid warfare. The instrumentalisation of migration as a geopolitical weapon by our adversaries in Washington and Moscow — what can be described as **Strategically Engineered Migration (SEM)** — constitutes the _external_ dimension of Europe’s migration crisis. Yet this is only the external half of the picture. The _internal_ dimension is, in many ways, more perplexing and more destructive: Why do large segments of Europe’s liberal, progressive, and ostensibly left-wing elites (e.g. certain journalists, academics, entrepreneurs, influencers, politicians etc.) not merely tolerate mass migration, but actively promote it — even as it fractures European societies, fuels political polarisation, and undermines public trust? According to recent YouGov [polling published in December 2025](https://yougov.co.uk/politics/articles/53744-what-do-europeans-think-about-immigration), a majority of Europeans oppose mass migration and increasingly supports deportation or remigration policies for migrants who arrived in recent years. Despite this, progressive parties, NGOs, and neoliberal technocrats continue to defend open borders as a moral necessity. Parties such as the Greens but also [Volt Europa](https://volteuropa.org/news/no_to_fences_yes_to_europe_of_solidarity) openly attack efforts to secure Europe’s external borders and shame countries like Denmark for pursuing restrictive — but electorally popular — migration policies, even though uncontrolled mass migration has become one of the primary obstacles to European cohesion and unification. This contradiction demands explanation. The explanation of this obsession with importing masses of migrants onto European soil can be found — somewhat ironically — in a classical, almost marxian analysis of opposing class interest and incentives. Mass Migration and Multiculturalism have a significant socio-economic impact on a society across different sectors. Some of this impact is positive, some of the impact is negative, depending on who you are and where in the socioeconomic hierarchy you are positioned. The spoils and burdens of migration are not distributed equally across society; and neither is the perception of them. The modern migration debate is shrouded in a thick fog of humanitarian sentimentality and woke talks about justice, the virtues of diversity, equity and inclusion; yet beneath the rhetoric lies something way more calculated and also human, all too human. The progressive, liberal and left elites and their mouthpieces in the media, present multiculturalism and open borders to the public as moral imperatives without alternatives. But: Nothing could be further from the truth. When we peel back the layers of virtuesignaling, it becomes clear that the attempt to force the transformation of Europe into a multicultural melting pot is not a philanthropic project. On the contrary, as this essay will outline, one can understand the mass migration and multiculturalism as a from class warfare from above; resulting not from a conspiracy, but from diverging interests between the majority of europeans and a few with strong lobbies. The people that promote them are, more often than not, the people that are not only insulated but also profiting from their consequences. # **The Anywhere Gentry and the Somewhere Citizen** The migration debate is defined by a stark divergence in lived experience. Decades of globalisation have produced a cosmopolitan elite — often called Anywheres — composed of academic professionals, digital nomads, consultants, financiers, NGO bureaucrats, and transnational managers. This milieu or class inhabits increasingly a global monoculture with shared norms, language, and values, largely detached from place, tradition, or national identity. They consume often similar media, the same Netflix shows, work in the same glass, steel and concrete cubes, no matter where on earth they may actually live. When an _Anywhere_ in New York, London, Munich, or Brussels praises _diversity_ they rarely mean diversity in any substantive cultural and social sense. They are referring to fellow members of their own global caste: the Indian PhD, the Chinese Ivy League graduate, the Westernized daughter of a Syrian doctor, the McKinsey Consultant who went to Oxbridge etc.. Diversity, in this context, is often aesthetic or even just cosmetic — skin tone and cuisine layered atop a shared liberal, secular, globalist worldview and business interests. In practice, these elites live in socially homogeneous bubbles. Their children attend private schools. Their neighborhoods are safe, affluent, and culturally insulated and converge across the world in style and habitus. Multiculturalism is something they consume aesthetically, not something they endure structurally. By contrast, the _Somewheres_ — the working and lower-middle classes — experience multiculturalism as a daily reality. Their children attend schools where their native language is no longer dominant. They confront parallel societies governed by incompatible social norms, including honor cultures, patriarchal tribalism, and religious extremism. They pay what might be called the “diversity tax”: higher crime, lower social trust, strained infrastructure, and declining public services. For the working class _Somewhere_, rooted in his city or town, mass migration and diversity is in the lived experienced often not the friendly, _Anywhere_-coworker from India with a PhD from Oxford. For the working class Somwhere, the cultural enrichment of mass migration often takes more negative forms; for example in violent, young Pakistani, Afghan or Somali men traumatised by war raping their daughters, stabbing each other and trying to impose Sharia laws onto the neighbourhood. Anywheres experience superficial monocultural diversity as nice enrichment, as friendly, well educated, westernized, well assimilated co-workers. The Somewheres, the poor, experience mass migration as a rise in rape, violence, and increased competition over housing and access to welfare. The affluent can buy their way out of the negative externalities of mass migration. The working class cannot. # **The Rentier’s Windfall: Mass Migration as Wealth Transfer** Some wealthy Anywhere may promote mass migration and multiculturalism as a form of virtuesignaling, to show to their globalist peers how tolerant and open-minded they are, while remaining ignorant of the negative externalities of these policies. But there is more to Open Border advocacy then just ignorant moral self-righteousness by a few spoiled private school graduates. Promoting “wokeism” and open borders is not just a moral pose; for certain members of the globalist upper class, it is often a highly profitable business strategy. Consider for example landowning aristocrats like the ones not uncommon among Europe’s political elite to this day - or American Private Equity funds like Blackstone. For these real estate and business owners, mass migration can be often extremely profitable. **Asset Inflation:** Every million newcomers represent a massive spike in demand for housing. For certain individuals who own land and real estate, this can translate to skyrocketing rents and property valuations, so actually increased wealth - while the public or rather the tax payer and common citizens have to take on the financial burdens of higher welfare spending and housing prices. For example, in Germany, the Government already pays in many cities way more to landlords to accommodate asylum seekers, then someone on minimum wage or a student would be able to pay. Asylum seekers and migrants on welfare basically are out-pricing german workers and university students - and landlords profit, as the raising demand allows them to rent out to a higher price, while also renting out properties to the government to house migrants is often way less risky and more profitable then to european students or lower class german workers. That mass migration is increasing real estate and property values, is not only a very straightforward conclusion from rising demand, but also empirically well researched. **Wage Suppression:** By flooding the market with an oversupply of labor, mass migration often suppresses wages; especially low skilled mass migration suppresses wages for typical lower class jobs, while often by allowing for overall economic expansion and higher profits for the managerial and capitalist class. The labor shortage often cited as a reason for allowing more migration is often a euphemism for a shortage of people willing to work for poverty wages. The Harvard Economist George Borjas [showed in his research](https://gborjas.scholars.harvard.edu/sites/g/files/omnuum4696/files/gborjas/files/jel1994.pdf) for the USA for example, that while immigration boosts the overall economy, it often depresses the wages of native low-skilled workers by 3% to 6%. **The Gated Community Buffer:** The upper class Anywheres remain often insulated from the social consequences of their policy. They advocate for multiculturalism from the safety of castles, mansions, and penthouses, while the middle class manages the vibrancy of social disintegration. For significant segments of the upper class, open borders are not merely a moral posture — they are a profitable economic strategy. Multiculturalism, in this sense, is not a humanitarian project. It is a mechanism for transferring wealth upward while externalising social costs downward; both by milking the taxpayer, raising rents from real estate and by creating more competition for jobs that drives down wages, increasing profit margins and dividends at the top. # **The Biopolitical Blunder of Outsourcing the Cradle** This class warfare, intentional or not, of Anywheres against Somewheres goes deeper than mere wage suppression and increased competition for housing; it also strikes at the biological and psychological core of the European individual. Progressive and neoliberal ideologies regularly reduce the citizen to an atomized unit — a creature valued mostly by its capacity for production and its appetite for shameless over-consumption. By promoting a culture of radical individualism and immediate gratification, especially social media, marketing and entertainment produced by anywheres and big corporations have trapped huge parts of the native population of Somewheres in a cycle of exhausting work and numbing hedonic pleasure. The entire conscious day of most humans - from their social media feeds, every single newspage to their inner cities plastered with posts, is filled to the brim with advertising for more consumption and encouragement to chase higher wages. The average person is exposed to 4.000 to 10.000 ads daily, a massive increase from the 500 seen in the 1970s; and even if most of us scroll or walk past them without notice, they do have an effect. Every consumer product and HR department has its own propaganda department; just our civilisation and our future unborn children do not have their own marketing and propaganda specialists working on their behalf. This environment creates a psychological state where the populace is either too intellectually hollowed out or too perpetually distracted by brainrotting social media consumption, gambling, recreational drugs, porn, traveling, leisure and videogames to undertake the long-term sacrifice of procreation. Instead of raising families, we see millions rot in hedonic treadmills between work and distraction for higher profits at the top. Faced with the demographic vacuum created by their own marketing departments, the globalist elite have opted in many western countries for a shortsigthed shortcut: the outsourcing of human reproduction itself. Rather than reducing migration, making housing affordable, skilling up and training young employees, lowering rents or fostering a culture that values the family unit — which would require a short term reduction in profit margins — many in the ruling class choose to import finished human products from the Global South. Instead of fostering a society in which Europeans want to and can afford to form families, the system encourages natives to remain atomised consumer-workers while importing human beings from abroad to fill labor shortages and demographic gaps. The native citizen is reduced to a productive unit whose value lies in consumption and taxation. The migrant becomes a modular labor input, assumed to be interchangeable and culturally neutral. The issue: This model does not work. Our contemporary European societies evolved over millennia and are the result of generations of accumulated cultural and economic capital. They depend on high levels of trust, shared norms, technical competence, and institutional discipline — products of long historical and cultural development, young Europeans absorb early on. This evolved and traditionally transferred knowledge cannot be instantaneously imported. Treating human beings as interchangeable economic units is not only dehumanising; it is systemically destabilising. This strategy is built on a fundamental delusion. It rests on naive blank slateism, on a simplistic assumption of all humans being equal, and the assumption that the cultural capital and technical efficiency that make our western societies high-functioning are universally and equally distributed. They are not. When reproduction is outsourced to populations that do not share our foundational values or the specialised technical training required by our economy, the system begins to stall. You cannot simply drop an illiterate Afghan Shepard or Somali Pirate from a islamist, tribal society into a hyper-complex European technological economy and expect the same output as from a domestic worker. By prioritising replacement migration over regeneration, the elite are trading the long-term survival of European civilisation for their own short-term profits. They are importing a workforce that, due to the friction of cultural misalignment, often becomes a net drain on the very social systems they were meant to save. By prioritising replacement over regeneration, some of our elite trade the long-term viability of European civilisation for short-term economic convenience - and it’s not even working. # **The Erosion of Social Capital: Hunkering Down and Union Deaths** One of the most devastating impacts of forced multiculturalism is the systematic destruction of social capital. While neoliberals view humans as interchangeable units of labor, sociology tells a more nuanced story. Extensive research, most notably by [Harvard Professor Robert Putnam](https://www.wcfia.harvard.edu/publications/downside-diversity) and supported by various Scandinavian longitudinal studies, suggests that as ethnic and cultural diversity increases, social trust declines rapidly. Similarity and shared cultural language, familiar signaling and codes create trust; their absence makes the establishment of trust harder. In highly diverse societies, people do not just distrust those who are different from them; they begin to distrust _everyone_. This is the phenomenon of hunkering down: When a society lacks a shared cultural core, the glue of trust that allows for collective action dissolves. This erosion of trust is a gift to some of the ruling class. A fragmented, multicultural workforce is the ultimate insurance policy against a unified working class. The effects are well studied: studies have demonstrated that [labour unions find it significantly harder to organise in highly diverse workforces](https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0176268022001215). When workers do not share a common language, culture, or set of social norms, their ability to organise for higher wages is crippled. A diverse workforce is harder to mobilise for a strike. Ethnic tensions and cultural misunderstandings become the perfect _divide and conquer_ tool for management; which makes it even more ironic, that among the biggest advocates for mass migration and multiculturalism are leftists, who seem to be ignorant how its subverting their own political base. # **The Welfare Trap: A Short-Sighted Elite Game** The elite belief that unskilled migration is an economic “free lunch” is a dangerous delusion. While some companies benefit in the short term from suppressed wages, they are playing a zero-sum game with society’s survival and ultimately their economic sustainability. Unskilled mass migration, often mislabeled as high-skilled by technocrats to polish statistics, creates a permanent class of welfare recipients who compete for gig and minimum wage jobs, and cannot integrate into a highly sophisticated, technical economy. These rising welfare costs cannot be externalised or ignored forever. Eventually, the bill for social services, healthcare, and security must be paid. This will inevitably come back to haunt the very corporations and property owners currently cheering for open borders, in the form of crushing tax hikes and a hollowed-out consumer base. Importing the third world does not create a new market; it destroys the existing one. # **The Tipping Point: Elite Emigration** A society and a modern state is a complex adaptive system. Just as an ecosystem has a carrying capacity for certain stressors, a liberal democracy has a carrying capacity for cultural dissonance. If a society absorbs a significant percentage of individuals who hold views fundamentally incompatible with the host society, e.g. that are opposed to European Enlightenment — such as the virulent hatred or the gender apartheid inherent in certain Islamist ideologies — the system starts to fracture. We are currently witnessing a demographic exchange driven by misaligned economic interests where the deteriorating conditions in Europe lead to a self-reinforcing acceleration. Not only do we see masses of unskilled immigration. We also see now, especially in the UK and Germany, increasing emigration of native Europeans. The high-skilled, productive, and liberal members of European society are quietly quitting and emigrating — over 1.5 million leave the EU annually, often for the USA or Asia — only to be replaced by a population that lacks any affinity for the host culture’s foundational values and also often also the skills to contribute meaningfully. Germany alone experiences a massive brain drain of 400.000 young, highly skilled academics leaving the country each year, often towards the United States. Here lies a certain dark irony. After advocating for Open Borders and causing the deterioration in housing affordability, public safety and increased burdens for taxpayers, more and more Anywhere are leaving Europe themselves to go somewhere, where the living conditions are better - and often not yet ruined by their own policies. Behind stay the Somewheres with a broken and divided society. # **Realigning Interest through a United Europe** The mainstream media characterises the rise of populism among the lower and middle classes as a backlash of the uneducated. This is a deliberate misdiagnosis. The shift toward populism is the awakening of a rising class consciousness, manifesting in a protective patriotism and civilisational self-defense. The European People are not stupid. They are smart. They are realising and waking up to the fact that uncontrolled mass migration is not in their own interest. They are realising that arguments like labour shortages are mostly excuses for particular business interests, but not in the interest of the total wellbeing of the society. The only mistake they do often make today, is that they fall for scammers, for pro-Russian anti-migration populists like the AfD or FPÖ or Orban, that take fury over mass migration and redirect it not into solving the root causes, but actually towards exacerbating them by fostering European division and fracture. What’s the solution to this predicament; to this destruction of Europe for the profits of a few? It certainly is not communism or an undifferentiated anti-capitalism; we have learned here our lessons from history. It is not left-wing egalitarianism. It is also not nationalistic fracture. The only solution lies in the a realignment of interests through a sovereign, federal United Europe — one that protects its borders, upholds our civilisation as something valuable; regenerates its population, and restores social trust; but that also stands up for the interest of the majority of Europeans against the particularist interests of Anywhere and transnational corporations. Because the EU is already right now standing up against the interests of foreign, most American capitalists that would love to divide and exploit Europe even more; it is why they attack the EU already right now. Profit is not evil; capitalism is not evil; markets are not evil - they are merely tools to increase economic output and prosperity, to serve citizens as customers. For that, they are useful, as any economist can attest. But Profit is not a divine God; it has its place as a tool for prosperity, but it is not the principle to govern all of society. Markets exist within legal frameworks. Where profit-seeking conflicts with human interests; where calculation destroys families and love, enslaves minds with drugs and distraction; where competition becomes a self-destructive race to the bottom; where greed of a few Anywheres undermines the survival of our People - here it must be reigned in. The prosperity of our civilisation, the flourishing of our families, the sustainability of our demographic - they come first, above profits. We have to affirm life and survival, put our flourishing and the sustainability of our population before the satisfaction of the bottomless and deadly greed of a few. Instead of cheap imported labor, Europe must invest in automation, innovation, and technological sovereignty; instead of paying rents and dividends to BlackStone and BlackRock, we need to foster european venture capital, entrepreneurship and trade. Instead of inflating rents by hiking the demand with masses of migrants for the profit of a few, Europe must make housing affordable and family formation for the people of Europe viable again. The dynamic doer, the entrepreneur, the creator, the inventor has to be the driving force of european capitalism; not the lazy rentseeker or the ideologue of diversity. Instead of moralistic multiculturalism, our policy must prioritize cohesion, continuity, and competence. This is the vision of Ave Europa: a Europe united not as a technocratic abstraction, but as a high-performance civilisation built by and for its peoples. A Europe not for the few, but for all Europeans. Only such a Europe can withstand external pressure, internal decay, and put an end to the silent class war waged against its own population. Movements like Green Partys, Progressives, the (Young) European Federalists (who haven’t done much in the last decades for European unity, but like to slander Ave Europa in their publications) or also Volt Europa claim to seek a United Europe, yet they are failing with that; moreover they made European Unification into a polarising topic by trying to hijack it for their leftist agenda, alienating big parts of European Patriots from the Cause. But why are these movements failing at brining Unity to Europe? It’s simple: It’s because they are the ultimate political manifestation of the _Anywhere gentry_ that is currently preventing a united Europe by waging class warfare against the middle and lower classes of Europeans, instead of engaging in genuine, uniting solidarity across all classes of Europeans. Look at the leadership and ideology of movements like JEF, Volt and the Green Partys. They are birthed for the most part from the same rootless, cosmopolitan milieu of old money aristocrats and academic urbanites that treats the continent as a frictionless office space rather than a historical homeland. Their vision of a “United States of Europe” is merely an expansion of the status quo: a centralized technocracy that facilitates the flow of capital and interchangeable labor while ignoring the social erosion felt by the Somewheres and the influx of anti-democratic sentiments and social disruption by mass migration. Because the identity and program of these movements is tied to the very progressive-left values that cause atomisation and facilitate replacement migration, thus the destruction of Europe; as they view borders as prejudices and cultural cohesion as exclusion — they are fundamentally incapable of uniting the European people, nor to gain major electoral victory in the foreseeable future. They cannot solve the migration crisis because their ideology _requires_ sacrificing the european population on the altar of globalisation and profit-maximising; they cannot raise birth rates because their worldview devalues the traditional family and glorifies the unhinged and shameless consumer. They offer a Europe united in name, but hollowed out in spirit — a playground for the anywhere class that remains entirely disconnected from the common European citizen like you and me. Their vision of Europe is one without roots, without a past, and certainly without a future for Europeans. Only **Ave Europa** offers a different path. We want to create a united Europe by Europeans and for Europeans, uniting and aligning all classes, cultures and nations of Europe for a better future for us all — and not just a better future for some greedy Wallstreet vultures, spoiled nepobabies in gated communities or lazy bureaucrats.
